Why don't "Advocates for Human Rights" advocate for human rights?

The Stop Violence Against Women website (STOPVAW), a project of The Advocates for Human Rights, is a forum for information, advocacy and change in the promotion of women's human rights around the world.

So, despite being an "Advocates for Human Rights", it only functions as a platform for female power. It's not interested in human rights, only " women's human rights". There it is, on the box.

To determine the predominant aggressor, police must consider:

  • The height and weight of the parties
  • Whether a party has a fearful demeanor
(source)

Well, this is easy. Men are bigger. Look for the man! Case closed! As for the fearful demeanor crap, all that means is if one party is better at lying, they are regarded as innocent.

I have no idea what they do in lesbian situations, which presumably would be dominant if they had their way. And in gay male relationships? Do you arrest both of them?

Dual arrests are to be discouraged, because two people are never to blame in a fight, that's just unpossibleeeee.

"Batterers may try to convince the police that the violence was mutual and that they are also a victim. "

Which is exactly what innocent people do, too. Feminism is about undermining the convention: "Innocent until proven guilty". "Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat" is negated indeed.

DV should not be treated different to other violence. Would police really arrest only one party in a brawl when both might be responsible?

I have to wonder if men won't wear google glasses constantly as a defensive measure as proof they are not the initiators of crimes. How will feminists spin that to maintain the fiction that only they are victims?

I'm also a cop. So I pose this question: Are you in one of the states that says you have to arrest the bigger(by weight and height) person when you go to a DV call? If you are, then is it fine with you that by the law(that is supposed to be blind/just) you have to arrest a 6'2 guy even though his 5'7 wife/girlfriend hits him over the head with a lamp? Or are you ok with a piece of legislation that specifically protects ONLY women because by it's definition, you can only be a perpetrator(VAWA)

Reflections on "World report on violence and health"

"World report on violence and health

Note: this isn't in the West, this is worldwide. If men are so powerful, why are we dying? If we set up everything for our benefit, why are we killing ourselves?

The current system is one of different costs and benefits for the sexes.. classing it as a Patriarchy is overly simplistic. Men are rewarded for being warriors - but pay with their lives. Women are defended - but pay with the pain of domestic violence.

It's kept us alive against predators faster, bigger, and better at fighting. We've gone through hundreds of thousands of years  with a poorly designed bipedal body, , feeble limbs, no teeth to speak of, by using a social structure of a domestic class and a hunter class. We've both benefited and suffered, and no-one is to blame for it. But we need true equality.

And that's not going to come from Feminism.

In 2000, an estimated 1.6 million people world-wide lost their lives to violence – a rate of nearly 28.8 per 100000 (see Table 1). Around half of these deaths were suicides, nearly one-third were homicides, and about one-fifth were casualties of armed conflict.

Of course not everyone is equally at risk from violence, and a closer look at the problem reveals who the principal victims were and where they lived. Males accounted for three-quarters of all victims of homicide, and had rates more than three times those among females.

The highest homicide rates in the world – at 19.4 per 100000 – were found among males aged 15–29 years (see Table 2). Homicide rates among males tend to decline with age; however, for women, the rate is around 4 per 100000 across all age groups, with the exception of the group aged 5–14 years, where it is about 2 per 100000.

Rates for suicide, in contrast, tend to increase with age for both sexes (see Table 2). The highest rates of suicide – 44.9 per 100000 – were found among men aged 60 years and older, more than double the rates among women of the same age (22.1 per 100 000).

In contrast, in the 15–29-year-old age group, the rate was 15.6 per 100 000 among males and 12.2 per 100000 among females.

Welcome to the machine

I don't like you playing those sexy computer games! It's like you are having sex with a machine! It's disgusting. I'm going to have them banned with my Feminist Powaz!

Ah ok. So are you single?

I don't want to have sex with men! I have my vibrator which is much better!

So women having vibrators is ok?

Yes! It empowers them!

And if men have erotic stimulation from a machine it's bad, but when women do it, it's good?

Yes, because men are creepy rape monsters! Pig! You would understand that if you were a woman!

The truth is I really love Pink Floyd so the story is pretty much just an excuse for the imagery ;-)

Sexual songs tend to use figurative language. Who knew?

Toto Coelo - I Eat Cannibals

I eat cannibal, feed on animal
Your love is so edible to me, I eat cannibals
I eat cannibal, it's incredible
You bring out the animal in me, I eat cannibals

What can you do, you're in a stew
Hot pot, cook it up, I'm never gonna stop

Fancy a bite, my appitite, Yum, yum, gee it's fun
Banging on a different drum

I Eat Cannibal, feed on animal
Your love is so edible to me, I eat cannibals
I eat cannibal, it's incredible
You bring out the animal in me, I eat cannibals

I like spice, tasty and nice
Looks trim, vitamin, forget the dieting
Mmm such a dish, I can't resist
Healthy recipe, what you got it's good for me

All I wanna do, is make a meal of you
We are what we eat, you're my kind of meat
Got a hunger for your love, it's what I'm speaking of
Give a dog a bone, I can take it home

Sung in unison with last two lines of previous verse:
Hot pot, cook it up, I'm never gonna stop
Yum, yum, gee it's fun, I'm banging on a drum
Looks trim, vitamin, forget the dieting
I eat cannibaaaallls

I eat cannibal, feed on animal
Your love is so edible to me, I eat cannibals
I eat cannibal, it's incredible
You bring out the animal in me, I eat cannibals (fade)

Eat You Up

from BoA

When I first saw you I knew nothing's like it used to be
Boy, you have got to be the finest thing in history
The way I feel inside is just so hard to understand
You feed my appetite in ways I can't explain

I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, so yum yum
Can't get enough, I think I'm in love

If you move any closer, boy, there is no guarantee
What I will do to you I fear it and it's scaring me
Like I've become some kind of demon in the night
You look so tasty, I could eat you up alive

I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, so yum yum

Can't get enough, I think I'm in love
I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, so yum yum
Can't get enough, I think I'm in love

Can't stop thinking 'bout the things I wanna do to you
If you move any closer you'd be asking for it too
I want your love, I need your touch
So much I think I'm in love

I'll eat you up, your love, your love
I'll eat you up, so yum yum
Can't get enough, I think I'm in love
I wanna take you to my room
I'll eat you up

Wanna take you to my room
I'll eat you up, so yum yum
Can't get enough, I think I'm in love

I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up
I'll eat you up

Sheena Easton - Sugar Walls

My sugar walls
my sugar walls.
Where I come from there's a place called heaven

That's the place where all the good children go.
The houses are of silver
the streets of gold.
But there's more where you come from - my sugar walls.
My sugar walls
my sugar walls.
Blood races to your private spots

let's me know there's a fire.
You can't fight passion when passion is hot

Temperatures rise inside my sugar walls.

Let me take you somewhere you've never been

I could show you things you've never seen.
I could make you never wanna fall in love again

Come spend the night inside my sugar walls.

Take advantage
it's alright

I feel so alive when I'm with you!
Come and feel my presence
it's reigning tonight.
Heaven on earth inside my sugar walls.
Let me take you somewhere you've never been
. . .

I can tell you want me - my sugar walls -
it's impossible to hide.
Your body's on fire
admit it! Come inside.
My sugar walls
my sugar walls.
Come inside my sugar walls
my sugar walls
my sugar walls.
Come spend the night inside my sugar walls

My sugar walls
my sugar walls.

DURAN DURAN

"Hungry Like The Wolf"

Darken the city, night is a wire
Steam in the subway, earth is a afire
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
Woman, you want me, give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf

Stalked in the forest, too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
High blood drumming on your skin, it's so tight
You feel my heat, I'm just a moment behind
Do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
A scent and a sound, I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line, it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine, I'm after you
Mouth is alive, all running inside
And I'm hungry like the wolf

Hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf
Hungry like the wolf

Burning the ground, I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
I smell like I sound, I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm hungry like the wolf
Strut on a line, it's discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt, I'm after you
Mouth is alive with juices like wine
And I'm hungry like the wolf

NINE INCH NAILS

"Closer"

You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me I broke apart my insides, help me I’ve got no soul to sell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get away from myself
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that it brings
You can have my absence of faith, you can have my everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its' your sex I can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody else
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Through every forest, above the trees
Within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason I stay alive

StabbyRaccoon's take on "Blurred lines"

Reblogged from StabbyRaccoon

A lot of people are saying that it's a song about rape but I don't think that they're using sound lyrical interpretation techniques. Looking at a few lines out of context like this article does isn't exactly a great way to determine what a song is actually about. You have to look at all of the lyrics and clues and put them together to see if they create a coherent idea.

(Caveat: yes these are incredibly douchey lyrics, but we're only focused on rape here)

I should note that to really understand what a song is about you have to start from the beginning. If you have heard a few lines on the radio and interpreted one way, it's best to discard your preconceived notions and approach it with a clear mind.

First relevant stanza:

"If you can't hear what I'm trying to say
If you can't read from the same page
Maybe I'm going deaf,
Maybe I'm going blind
Maybe I'm out of my mind
[Pharell:] Everybody get up"

Ambiguous, he's trying to say something to someone. I don't think that we can infer anything yet.

Second stanza:

"OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
But you're an animal, baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker"

So here we get an explanation and we start to see a story forming. Thick is talking to a woman who's in a relationship and trying to persuade her to let him "liberate" her from it. Apparently with his penis. Now that's a pretty douchey thing to do but there's no indication that he's going to rape her, right now he's simply trying to explain the amazing benefits of sleeping with him.

"And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

Here he tells us that she's "grabbing him" and so he knows that she wants him. I can see how that might sound "rapey" to some because of the "I know you want it's" but try to remember that while this may be the language of a date-rapist, it can also be the language of seduction. "I know you want me babe, go ahead, get at me". And that line "go ahead, get at me" also works against the rape hypothesis, he wants her to make the move. If it was about rape we might expect something like "Now I'ma rape ya" or something, not putting the onus on her, because that's not what a rapist does.

"Can't let it get past me" could be taken to mean that there's no way he's going to let her leave without sex, or it might just be normal motivation to finally seduce her. "I can't let this chance pass me by" is similar and could indicate that someone is highly motivated to get a job, but doesn't mean that if they don't get hired then they're going to try to work there anyway.

And of course "I hate these blurred lines". Well that could be interpreted as blurred lines between consenting and not consenting, but it could also mean blurred lines between her being in a committed relationship and being available to have sex with him. And considering the overall storyline of the song we should probably take the latter interpretation. He hates that she can't seem to make up her mind. And if it was a song about date rape then he probably wouldn't be "hating" the blurred lines, he would already be across the line, it wouldn't be such a torment to him.

"What do they make dreams for
When you got them jeans on
What do we need steam for
You the hottest bitch in this place
I feel so lucky
Hey, hey, hey
You wanna hug me
Hey, hey, hey
What rhymes with hug me?
Hey, hey, hey"

This is simply more of the same. He thinks she's hot and they're flirting.

T.I's douchey rap is uneventful so I won't post it, it's quite long. Basically just him talking about all the things he wants to do sexually. None of it implies rape.

"Shake the vibe, get down, get up
Do it like it hurt, like it hurt
What you don't like work?

Pop-music nonsense, basically.

"Baby can you breathe? I got this from Jamaica
It always works for me, Dakota to Decatur, uh huh
No more pretending
Hey, hey, hey
Cause now you winning
Hey, hey, hey
Here's our beginning"

I'm not entirely sure what he's talking about. "I got this from Jamaica" might be interpreted as a date rape drug reference if you're REALLY hell-bent on thinking that this is about rape, but "can you breathe" could also indicate that he means strong Jamaican cologne that helps him get the ladies. I don't see a reason to think that this is about date rape drugs.

So I think that it's clear that these lyrics will only be interpreted as being about rape if you desperately want to call people rapists and constantly think about rape. Now who does that? Hmm...

Finally, language like "kind of rapey" is nonsensical and a bad idea. There's no such thing as being "kind of rapey" you're either raping or promoting rape or you're not, this kind of ambiguous language is intended to smear someone without taking on the responsibility of accusing them. But "this song is about rape and Robin Thicke is endorsing rape" is untenable so that's the final resort I suppose.

If you want to say that it's a douchey or sexist song or that this kind of sexuality is a bad idea, that's fine. But when we get into the legal realm things become more serious, you can't wave around these accusations flippantly.

(source)

The feminist response was to make a video where they boasted about castrating men and how they didn't want them sexually now they had sex toys, which they proceed to force into men's throats. If I was a male subbie, I might think that was brilliant, especially if I was insanely masochistic (is castration a fetish? probably).

But i have to say, Thicke's song is about sahred pleasure, feminists counter that by removing the capacity for pleasure.

One said "as a woman, when i saw the video i felt so disrespected, i mean, women can put their tits out without anyone thinking is out of control, but for a men bancing around with his dick is a depravante image? just an example that's is quite normal in our society" So presumably they'll be outraged at this!

Oh wait... that's a feminist protest? Oh can't question the Sisterhood, it's not sexism in that case, it's empowerment! Liberation! Freedom! For women only...

Unacceptable!!

"Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke is unacceptable... because... umm.. it depicts rough sex... and women suffer.. or something. So it should be banned, right?

Well, if that's the reasoning, why was there no outrage over "Cannibal" by Kesha? Could it be because no-one gives a toss if a song is about violence to men? Or because people understand it's a poetic metaphor, and don't decide to take offense deliberately? Taking offense seems to be a tactic feminists and other fanatics use quite often. Compare these two songs.

Are they meant to be literal? Or are boasts and threatening language a part of traditional human sex play?

Is Blurred Lines a series of boasts about sexual prowess designed to attract a mate for a mutually enjoyable activity?

Sex is dirty. It is wild. It is animalistic. Crush that at your peril.

Pull a Pharside let you pass me by
Nothing like your last guy, he too square for you
He don't smack that ass and pull your hair like that

Cannibal, by Kesha

I have a heart, I swear I do
But just not, baby, when it comes to you
I get so hungry when you say you love me
Hush if you know what's good for you

I think you're hot, I think you're cool
You're the kind of guy I'd stalk in school
But now that I'm famous, you're up my anus
Now I'm gonna eat you, fool

I eat boys up, breakfast and lunch
Then when I'm thirsty, I drink their blood
Carnivore animal, I am a cannibal
I eat boys up, you better run

I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, I am)
(I'll eat you up)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal)
(I'll eat you up)

Whenever you tell me I'm pretty
That's when the hunger really hits me
Your little heart goes pitter patter
I want you liver on a platter

Use your finger to stir my tea
And for dessert, I'll suck you teeth
Be too sweet and you'll be a goner
Yup, I'll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer

I eat boys up, breakfast and lunch
Then when I'm thirsty, I drink their blood
Carnivore animal, I am a cannibal
I eat boys up, you better run

I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, I am)
(I'll eat you up)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal)
(I'll eat you up)

I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, I am)
(I'll eat you up)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal, cannibal, I am)
I am cannibal
(Cannibal)
(I'll eat you up)

I love you
I warned you

Do You Wonder"Am I A Good Man?" Ask this woman for approval today!

I often say Feminism is misandrist; among other things, it despises male sexuality.
Here's an example from The Good Men Project, a site dedicated to domesticating men everywhere.

So, how can we all work together to change our collective impression of male sexuality as something that is dangerous and disgusting? Besides the obvious—understanding male privilege, dismantling of patriarchal mythology and ending rape culture?"

The thing that staggers me about this is how patronising - or should I say matronising? it is. Male privilege, patriarchy, and rape culture don't exist in the West... they are, indeed, myths. There's no roaming gangs of rapists getting the wink to do their deeds from dudebros except in the imagination of Feminazis. There are countries like that in Africa and other places of extreme civil disorder. The sort of places where they practice cannibalism, human sacrifice and so on.

So she feels disgust, and assumes all other women do, because of myths. In her mind, a man can order her to make him a sandwich, and she must comply, because of his fearsome 'privilege'! Oh wait... he can't.

Men don't get any special privileges at all. if anything, legally, since they are always regarded as violent, dangerous sexual predators, they are much worse off than women. It's women who have the choice as to whether or not to destroy their partners through rape allegations or domestic abuse.

So maybe men are the ones who should be disgusted at female sexuality, which seems to be a bit like biting into an apple and hoping there's no razor blades... this time?

As for patriarchy, pfft. If men were dominant.. and by that i mean in the same way white people were dominant in south africa during apartheid.. then they would have no problems having their own spaces. Yet whenever something exists for males, a woman can, at a whim, claim it for her sex.. the boy scouts, swimming clubs, whatever she desires.

Can males do that? Oh right.. they can't. The girl guides remain female only, the female swimming clubs are protected, and so on. Women get special rooms at universities, special days, magnitudes more money on problems like breast cancer, and so forth.

"1. Be an ally. "

It's important to remember men can't be Feminists. They can aspire to be 'allies'. A bit like how the Nazis viewed the Italian Fascists; not really quite as good as the real people, but better than the rest of the subhuman scum.

"2. Ask women what they want, and listen to what they tell you"

Try not to be assertive, ducks, there's no point. Be passive. Be a doormat. Women just love jellyfish. It's not like they'll look at some arrogant bastard and leave you and your sopping wet ways to watch you roar off on a Harley, because women never ever do that. Because sexuality is civilised and decent and mild, and it listens to reason and nods humbly.

Brillllliant advice, that is.

"3. Let us in, don’t lure us in. Lay off the cologne"

What the hell? Women don't lure their mates in? Only women may use scents; men are forbidden? Wow, talk about a petty dictum.

"4. Don’t take it personally. "

To quote Monty Python, how much more personal can you get? A man has rejected and she has the hide to tell them to stifle their feelings.

"5. And lastly, know that your body is beautiful."

Gush! I have been validated! My life is complete! Of course, this is bullshit. Women do not sit about raving about how gorgeous men are, it's pretty damn one-sided. And at best, it's only a few men who will ever achieve 'studliness'.. the rest of us will make do with overweight exhausted bodies, vehicles for doing work with rather than some gorgeous display home. We make do.

So Ms Royse, I'm sure some broken men will be grateful for your mouldy scraps of 'alliance', but for the rest of us, if you view us as disgusting, bugger off. We don't need you. Fortunately, there are plenty of women who appreciate us as equals, and *like* our sexuality as it is, wild, scary, and selfish, and a heck of a lot of fun. Just like a woman's... who knew?
