NSFW Fallout 4 random stuff

Marcy.. err, it’s not that I don’t find you attractive… but your husband is digging up the dirt right behind me

… he likes to watch, you say?

What’s that I hear? A settlement needs my help? Golly, must fly! Duty calls!

Umm... Piper?

I know he was an evil telekinetic monster who was killing us and all, but...

couldn't you have warned me before your ... um... chemical attack?

Feminists boast of hacking Wikipedia

“He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him.”

Thomas Jefferson, Aug. 19, 1785

" Why do men still control our history? "

What sort of Orwellian Police State are you from that you think ANYONE controls history?

"it’s also one of the most gender biased entities in the Western world"

.. and your evidence for this slur against the contributors is?

"studies show that up to 90 per cent of them are men"

Oh right - they are men - therefore they are sexist.

That's your reasoning. Gadzooks. Not a trace of self-awareness in there, is there? It's all hard vacuum. People should stand clear of you, you'll shatter and implode if you ever fall over.
"Student Emily Temple-Wood discovered one of the most well-known instances of sexism on Wikipedia, identifying more than 4,000 female scientists - including fellows of the Royal Society - who did not have a page on the site"

So if other people haven't done the work she wanted to have been done, that's proof they must hate women, or something.

Big effing deal. Most everyone in the history of history itself isn't there. The few who are there are because volunteers do it - what you are really proving is that Feminists are lazy buggers who are outraged when others won't spend their free time on their desires.

We do not exist to please you.

There was no barrier to her creating a page, there's no conspiracy to prevent others doing so - and yet she spread mud over the reputations of all the other people who gave of themselves for it.

Wow, Feminists, you really are awful people.

"female writers were systematically and intentionally being removed from the ‘American Novelists’ page"

And your proof is? Another opinion piece. Did you get the opinion of the Wikipedia editors? Of course not, because they might have refuted your claim.

It's so much easier to have a kangaroo court when you don't even notify the accused, let alone allow them a defense.

"about subjects such as Gamergate - which saw developer Zoe Quinn and other women in the games industry trolled"

You don't know what the word "troll" means, do you? No, it doesn't mean when people say stuff you don't like.

"when a handful of users edited the Gamergate page to reflect events from a feminist perspective"

And there it is. You decided to take it from being objective - by your own words, the goal of it - and slant it to your liking. Which is no different from having the US Democrats write the article on the Republican Party.

You are the opposite of Wikipedia - through you, human knowledge is lessened. You are the opposite of objective - you are propagandists, enemies of truth, believers in lies and lovers of lies.

And when the last of you dies, the world will only know relief.

NSFW: Hand problem in Fallout 4

I noticed the hands on fallout models (probably due to some CBBE conflict) were wonky, and couldn't pin down why, even by disabling and re-enabling mods.

I think that when mods were disabled, they weren't done cleanly, so the hands don't match the bodies. Some file somewhere is still pointing to that incorrect resource.

(these are massive files btw)

Have to delete, *not* disable, all the mods that affect the body from NMM. Ugh.

Then download to a separate folder, reinstall from file, load game, try next CBBE mod (it's surprisingly difficult to get a high rez body mod with options of pubic hair), see if that breaks it, and so on.

And it vexes me because it was fine a while ago and I broke it without noticing and that screwed up my many screenshots.... goddangit!

Off topic, but i really wish Fallout used the character appearance creation system to create a variety of NPCs. They all use the same appearances. It would be easy to have a batch creation so that you get random looking characters - which would often be ugly, true, but so what? They'd be interesting.

Alas, if you edit your character's body, that changes all the raiders. there are no skinny ones unless you are skinny, no fat or tall or short etc - everyone is bland.. it's a waste of the capabilities of the character generator.

At least some modders worked out how to randomise the gear they are carrying so that they have some personality that way, although I'd much rather the appearances were random but the gear was controlled by the resources available to them.. so that you have a uniform for guards, farmers, medics and so on.

You can change their equipment manually but it's tedious, and impractical beyond doing it for a handful of people.

Ughghghg. Now I'm wondering if the hand mismatch is in the base game?

I don't really see any close-ups to compare with, but this is off the main CBBE site:

I like the job on the fingernails. It still bugs me that the vulva is so low, it looks wrong to be but I expect it's perfectly natural anatomy - again, no random variation in the human models is possible.

Yes, i know, the stance is different, but even so.

Review of Fallout Mod "Spring Cleaning", by Nverjos

Spring Cleaning

I decided I just had to give this mod another go, and didn't get the CTD I had before. This is one of the things I find makes me cynical about people who say we shoudn't worry about problems with a game, because modders will fix it.

Yes, modders can fix a section, that will break another if combined with a mod that fixes another section, and no, the game devs will not help you to sort it out.

We shouldn't need mods to get the basic game working properly, and removing the old housing, and landscaping the terrain, should be basic functions.

And it's the latter I have problems with in Croup Manor. It's a horrible settlement location.

Ghouls spawn inside the building, so it makes sense to seal it up, or at least level the building - but i find settlers appear inside sealed off sections, because raisins.

So I tried removing the building - only to find that leaves a steep hole that all the settlers run into - they are greatly attracted to it, maybe there's a gravitational anomaly. I tried sealing in the hole with foundations, but the game won't let you do that.

It's frustrating that I can build a reactor, but I can't pour concrete or even shovel dirt into the holes! I have to wonder why Bethesda overlooked that.

So I had to reload the game

- no undo function in the game, because it's a console game and you should be glad they let PC users use it at all, no, they aren't going to take advantage of a keyboard, console controls are enough for everybody, godammit!

-and install turrets next to ghoul spawn locations.

Ugh! What a kludge.

This mod would probably work best with a new game, as it's a pain to try and clean up the rubbish after you have placed buildings on top of it (and the rubbish often clips through floors and walls). It works well in Sanctuary and the Castle, as well as the Drive-In.

With the latter, I wasn't happy that I couldn't replace the dirty bench sections of the cafe area with clean ones - perhaps another modder could find a substitute.

Care must be taken in Red Rocket as you can remove some of the items that give the place flavour.

Fallout Dreams

I'm wandering, but everything looks impossibly clean, almost as if..

I'm back. I know where I am. Home. Then I see him, and feel dread. It's coming.

I rush to my son's bedroom - but there's no-one there. The house is empty. I'm too late.

I follow the path I took before, to the Icehouse. The cold place, the worst place. I'm frantic; I have to change what will happen, I have to save my family.

I see all my neighbours, my friends. They shiver in terror, they weep. They will die soon, or be twisted into monsters.

I want to help them but I can't. I don't know what to say.. is it worse to go inside Icehouse, and be murdered, or die believing you were denied salvation?

Soldiers at their posts, their fear masked by metal. I didn't see their bodies. Did they survive, somehow?

I get to the vault, but it's too late. I see as if I rode the bomb. The bomb, the bomb.. is falling... but it's here, this time, and there'll be no survivors. I feel ... relief.

... but then I am back, where I was soon after I left Icehouse and began to see the horrors of the Wasteland.

I am in Concord, and I have to get to the Power Armour. Footsteps. Dooms, doom, doom. I have to run... but I sink into the ground like it's mud, and it holds me in place.

I hear the Deathclaw huffing, but I can't bear to turn and watch it's approach. I can only hope my death is swift.

NSFW - The Vanishing of Emogene Cabot

Emogene Cabot? Why no, I have never heard of her. Perhaps she went to the next cult, not this one.

Would I like to join your cult? Ummm... may.. be?

Woah! That smile! Not a good smile! But the body is so tempting! But the hands... what the hell ... what the ...

Oh no! Piper! Your hands... they got you too! No, I will not wait for an ad-break to discuss this!

Piper - get your clothes back on! You'll catch your death of cold!  ... is it warm suddenly?

Walk into the flames? Why yes, that is a reasonable suggestion.

Hmm. How long am I supposed to stay here for?

Well, yes, fire is uncomfortable - but I've had worse. Say, that lemonade was spiked, wasn't it? You just wanted a human sacrifice?!

Well, no fun for you! Piper! Find our clothes! We're leaving!

I met a feller who said he would take care of the business... said he appreciated how to turn up the heat on those screwballs.

I tried to focus on what he was saying - he's torched a lot of people - but those glasses - should I say something? I should. No, I really shouldn't.

 Dammit! He's left!

And I just realised I have no idea where Emogene went. Maybe I should have told him to ask questions first...

Some last second repairs to the Drive-In Settlement teleporter taking place - while I'm in the middle of it..

Am I worried? It's not like the beam is live and I could die horribly - oh wait - it is!

My life flashes before my eyes. Two hundred years of it involved being frozen in a cryopod. Yay?

I hear Cait take off. I hope she doesn't get caught up in the power lines again.

The techie says he's good to go; he was a scientist, pre-war, working on something of the precursor to this, and between him, Sturges, Tinker Tom and PAM's calculations, we think it'll work.

The Emergency Medical Facilities at Icehouse Base are our first port of call. Then, Castle Headquarters.

There's talk of finding a way to use this to access Prydwen with strike teams if we need to, but I'm not too keen on that; even tethered, the damn thing moves too much for my liking.

But there's no reason they couldn't be working on this tech too - can we really wait until they beam nukes into our bedrooms?

It's now or never. Across the Commonwealth I go.
