Your art makes me uncomfortable - change it!

Current Female Orc Model (source)
"Okay, but why does the orc lady look more human than orc. I mean I’ve been annoyed about this ever since first playing WoW I know sexual dimorphism is a thing, but fuck, if you were to show someone who never touched the warcraft games a picture of her and a picture of the male orcs they’d say she’s from startrek and not an orc." (source)

Many women, and some men, will find him attractive.
Most men are not threatened by him.
They might wish they could look at least somewhat like him.

Many men, and women, will find her attractive.
Some women will find that threatening. Some men will be ashamed of the way she inspires desire.

Standard She Hulk.

Which do you think people attracted to females prefer to look at?

Which do you think females would rather look like?

“ Okay, but why does the orc lady look more human than orc.”

Women are attracted to beauty in males,
but other features representative of sexual success
are important, such as physical power.

The sex-reversed version simply doesn't have the same mass appeal.
Because people who are attracted to females find that more attractive.

Others have said it's because she's half-orc - I don't care. There's a reason females in fiction get to be pretty, and men can be bestial yet still be attractive.

Because women want to be sexy, and like sexy women even if they don’t want to have sex with them, unless they feel they are unattractive and so are threatened by attractive women, or unless they are religious, and hate those damned sluts.
Unattractive women project their
hatred of attractive women
- their rivals.

They can't admit to hating other women,
so they hate the men who want them by proxy.

The irony is - if you are not physically attractive
(and most can improve it at least somewhat),
then you can seek other paths to attractiveness
- through dance, through kinky outfits,
through song or other displays.

Or you can try and tear down those sluts instead.

“I mean I’ve been annoyed about this ever since first playing WoW”

WoW exists and has been successful because it understands human psychology. There are plenty of games with unattractive females, but attractive females have sold better. Should marketplaces not respond to the desires of consumers?

“I know sexual dimorphism is a thing”

Yeah, like gravity is a thing. It’s interesting that you put a but after it. I know gravity is a thing, but why can’t I just fly around without any effort, fuck, the Patriarchy is oppressing me.

Accept reality. Move on from there. You want movies with women who aren’t attractive? Crowdfund them. Or make them yourself. Don’t get angry because artists aren’t making the art you want.

"if you were to show someone who never touched the warcraft games a picture of her and a picture of the male orcs they’d say she’s from startrek and not an orc. “

Sexual dimorphism:

and, of course,

The circled bit is the male. It survives by eating her in exchange for supplying sperm. Yay?

Even by the premises of your own argument - that sexual dimorphism exists but people should be able to recognise they are of the same species - you fail biology forever.

And it’s not like you failed it because you had to go to a  library or study at uni - the knowledge was a mouse-click away.

But let’s ignore that and go back to WoW.

This is a typical WoW character. Why are you trying to impose science on how Orcs can be depicted, when magic - magic - is fundamental to WoW.

There are Gods. They can fashion races according to their whims, and if they like making orc women look sexy, then who are you to tell them they are wrong?

Who are you to shame us?

And sexy orc females have been depicted consistently when artists, professional or otherwise, have depicted them - we humans prefer sexy women, either to gaze upon with desire, or to project ourselves into.

Skip to the female orc to see how human women interpret orcs - they make them sexy, because being attractive is a form of power - and it's a fundamental drive to any sexual species, without it your genes become extinct, so it's hardly surprising.

Women reproduce by being attractive physically but can compensate through other means- men have to be somewhat physically attractive but can compensate more with physical power and social status.

Historically, only a few men get to reproduce. Most fertile women have done so. It's women who are the gatekeepers of relationships, of sexual pleasure, and of reproduction.

My thoughts on "Titwindows and boobsocks"

I think it's terrifying that Kate says that artists "must be held accountable".

That is straight out of every bloody fascist regime. Will she demand they be forced to repent for drawing women who are prettier than she is, that like having sex with men? Will there be executions for the likes of Frank Cho?

I play to win! GG! D.Va Cosplay
1:57:15 There's two ways of looking at the boob-butt pose. a) it's physically possible - female cosplayers have demonstrated it. (Note: The cosplayer here is doing the 'boob-butt' pose that drives feminists berserk - that they claim is impossible for real women to do.)

Can't find the particular shots i was thinking of but you can see similar examples here

b) it's an example of how comics show human 'reality' rather than objective reality - our senses are not like cameras, we see the world by taking a chunk of time and working out what is happening from that - thus the camera shows a still but we see a variety of stills and create an illusion of motion - to depict that in a comic means you can't just replicate the camera's viewpoint.

A lot of good comic art from history is a composite in one frame of several distinct actions.

This was understood implicitly. Now everyone has cameras and expects the world to look exactly like cameras show it as being - which robs the art of dynamism. e.g. "Saga of the Super-Sons" image

The speech clearly takes farrrr longer than the motion of removing the poster. Several minutes are compressed in on panel to an instant of time.

Same story in this Batman and Robin pop-art piece.
Eadweard Muybridge was actually quite shocking, because for the first time he revealed that the camera could not and did not depict reality in the way the human visual system does.

See this Elk's motion below - it actually appears to be quite static. A 'realistic' depiction is thus robbing the image of information it needs for a human to see it as in motion.

Kate Bush.

I see her, and my heart flutters, oh!

"Tits and dicks are not the same" - in fact that is exactly what feminists argue when it's convenient for them - and they want to say that breasts are asexual - then they argue the opposite when they claim that touching a breast is rape - which implies it is a sexual act.

You can't have it both ways.

In fact, why are feminists objecting to male depictions of women that show nipples - when feminists didn't wear bras deliberately because they didn't think nipples should be something to be ashamed of (i was there in the seventies and i actually kinda miss those times e.g. Kate Bush to the right).

Should we #HideTheNipple or #FreeTheNipple? They seem to want it both ways. Nipples must be exposed, but men can feel no joy from them?

I don't know, Feminists?

Why is it you cannot make your mind up about this question?
The answer is, of course - female sexuality good, male sexuality  - baaaaad!

Gloves, gloves, gloves, gloves

I've always wanted surgical gloves. I had trouble doing photography at high school because my skin is quite sensitive. My teacher insisted we put our hands in the chemical bath, and bullied until i complied. Later, of course, dermatitis kicked in and my hand became almost unusable.

Ah, High School, how I hated you (except for the parts involving my mates and a few moments with girls - way too few).

Anyway, later I had lead minis and you were supposed to paint them before handling - you can see the dilemma! Kitchen gloves just don't cut it, and are generally designed for the hands of tiny Han Chinese women. My hands are average for my size, but kitchen gloves are painful and not good for gripping.

Later in Chemistry at Uni, the issue became serious. We dealt with stuff that really should never touch skin. Most of the other students just accepted a reduced life expectancy. I asked about but there were no practical solutions. I asked at Doctor's but they just got them from phone-ordered office supplies. There are no shop fronts for these things, apparently.

Nowadays you can get these:

So when i was getting the stab yesterday, I asked the tech where she got her gloves. She giggled; seemed to think the question was kinky.

Well, truth is, i wouldn't mind getting them for that purpose too; there's some acts where a pair would have been quite handy! (Image redacted)

it seems so obvious that gloves that fit, gloves that had some sensitivity, would be practical (and i have minis that still need painting!)

So gave up asking and did an online looksie. Egad! The prices! I presume that they can only be used once, although the gloves they used in the old shows like MASH we re-used, from memory. Maybe they were stronger?

And how would I know which one to get? Am I latex allergic? What if, by some miracle, i did get a partner, and one thing led to another, and she turned out to have an allergy? Could the wrong glove lead to an embarrassing excursion to the ER?

My mind flops about the decision point. Should i shell out for latex free, knowing it might be a waste of my tiny budget, or buy non-sterile latex and a set of sterile non latex just in case, and hope they don't decay by the time they are relevant?

So many choices; psychologically that can be a bad thing. I have to choose where the money goes and i don't have scope for failure;

I must get a decent vacuum, the Dyson DC54 has had a few bad reviews, hmm, buy choice magazine for a  professional opinion? That's another $20!

Must buy Federation Commander , which again cascades into subchoices. PDF or hardcopy? Printer or tablet? There's no storefronts now, and mail delivery could be 6 months and never even arrive. If i buy a tablet, my eyes will struggle with their tiny screens.

Use it on my desktop? Not very handy for a tabletop game.

Argh.

And always, in the background, there are rumours that the government is cutting disability budgets, chopping out about a third, forcing people's heads underwater.

They can't afford them, they say. They have cut all the revenue from taxing companies, and no longer have an income. They can't afford to try taxing them again either; the companies have too much power over elections
and whoever offends them is crushed.

Test art

From tumblr; the claim was he didn't look right for the suit

My version; i think the background should be blurrier. The tumblr pic is awful to work with; there's a lot to be said for a good background, preferably greenscreen.
