 Say the ABC, as is it’s wont, has a report on domestic violence. If a male victim is ever mentioned, it’s referred to as a person abused by a partner. If a female victim, it’s a woman, if the victimiser is male, it’s maleness is then mentioned.


Point that out to a Feminist and at best they won’t see the problem. “Person covers male!”, they’ll claim, and yet you never see a “Minister for People’s Affairs” or equivalent, it will be a “Minister for Women’s Affairs”.. and there’ll be no “Men’s Affair’s” office holder, naturally.

What’s most interesting though is that mainstream media doesn’t even mention female shooters when they claim to show the history of the crime — but I guess they’re going by high scores.

While its true that most shooting sprees are committed by males, it is also true that most child abuse, neglect, and murders are committed by females.

This is only mid-year and I didn’t even include the reports of mothers killing their children from previous years or other countries.

In the end this is the truth:

Both genders commit crimes, some types more than others but violence is a human issue and not a gender issue.

If you look into the reports of all of these school shootings for example you’ll start to notice that mental health disorders and illnesses are a common theme among others like poor living conditions and/or a history of abuse but are dismissed for a simplistic, apathetic excuse like “misogyny” or “man equal violent”.

What a coincidence that the mental health and victimization of males is not in the slightest taken seriously in this country until they act out and hurt someone, especially if that someone is a woman.

But even then it becomes a crusade to maximize punishment rather than to understand what made this individual behave in a negative way.

If males make up over 90% of the prison population and if the prison industrial complex is any indication of what harsh punishment does to men, wouldn’t it make sense to take their issues a little more fucking seriously than to just dismiss them outright based on your personal baggage or your political agenda?

Problems with sims 3

I can't get past this missing text problem.. I thought it must be just for "Into the Future" and "University Life", but as you can see below, I still have a blank button despite uninstalling those two expansions.

I have tried checking all DVDs for scratches, uninstalling, reinstalling, running the repair function and even re-downloading "Into the Future" and "University Life" from the Origin Launcher.

Installing from DVD is terribly slow, and literally painful as I can't position the DVD drive in a place of easy access and moving to get to it is difficult due to my physical problems. I have 13 DVDs here..

It's putting me back in the bad old days of installing windows from stacks of floppy disks, only with a gazillion copy potection hurdles in the forms of codes to be typed (which again, i wish i had a text file of them to copy/paste, and wouldn't have to worry about if it was a direct download).

I wish I had created disk images originally and installed from there (assuming that wouldn't cause some copy protection issue), but I had no idea I'd need to at the time -EA had a great rep, and i had no problems with previous Sims games

- and again, it's gotten to the point where I just do not see the point in having the DVDs - a digital download is beginning to look more efficient, which, frankly, is bloody stupid.

When  I talked to Tech support, after a 50 min wait in the queue, i was advised to leave it for 4 days and try again, have a nice day, which I was unimpressed by (I'm pretty sure the agent was looking forward to fobbing me off onto someone else). I did manage to get the supervisor who said they'd escalate it to the devs, but who can say if

1. they did so
2. the devs will care, especially as Sims 4 is shipping and so what if someone can't play Sims 3?
